AMO Productions is a multi-media company, with the lens focused on "Humanity and the power of the human spirit."

 

That  is what I hope to bring to the class.  This course will expose you to the various elements that go into  producing , creating, and excecuting  television and media projects, You  will  leaarn to prepare, shoot, edit and produce short peices such as  PSA, Promotional Video,, commercials, news spots, documentary and  narrative short formats.

DESCRIPTION

 

*SESSIONS- Two days per week, 90 min classes   PM

 

 

*PROGRAM-Will encompass learning basic television production skills.

 

SKILLS-TECHNICAL-Basic camera operation,, editing, paper editing. producing, storyboarding(if poss control room operations,

sound engineering, switching, editing and floor managing).

 

CONTENT-Basic directing, producing, writing, research, announcing,

interviewing, booking and production coordination.

 

 

GOALS

 

 

*STUDENT BASED PROJECTS: During the session each student will have an opportunity to

learn each aspect of production by rotating responsibilities. They will learn and successfully produce 1minut-  half hour programs in various genres (talk, news, game, music video, PSA, public affairs, magazine format, narrative and documentary).

 

CONTENT-Basic directing, producing, writing, research, announcing, interviewing, booking and production coordination.

 

 

-Bulk of the projects will focus on the student’s community (the family neighbors and organizations that have influenced them) as well as the community surrounding the school, staff and students. We will use an intergenerational approach wherever possible. We will also explore the spirit of youth, their influences on society’s, their power and the responsibility they shoulder for the 21st Cen

*LOCAL BROADCAST TIME: One or more of the produced projects will have the potential to air on SOMETHING TO OFFER (MNN-CH56-7:30P SAT)

 

 

 

*EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS: Students will produce one or more pieces that relate and can be used to supplement a lesson in the school curriculum, after school enrichment programs and community-based activities.

 

 

 

OBJECTIVES

 

*Students will learn the power of the word and the power of media.

*Students will honor their power to make contributions in their community

*Students will have a forum to give their interest and concerns a voice.

*Students will be exposed and explore different career possibilities.

*Students will develop language, public speaking, and dialoguing skills.

*Students participation will develop their capabilities, sense of responsibilityand cooperative learning skills.

 

ADDITIONAL

 

 

*GUESTS-Potential to invite industry leaders in to spend time with the students in instruction,interviews and dialogue. As available throughout the Activity Schedule.

 

 

ACTIVITY SCHEDULE

*WEEKS1-3-Students will familiarize themselves with equipment and work in front of camera.In addition students will brainstorm and research for project content. learn about components that are similar and very in each  of the varying media styles

*WEEKS-4-6-Students will continue developing above skills and write copy, storyboard set production schedule. Start shooting and explore lighting/audio issues.

*WEEKS-7-9-Students will learn how to work in production teams(poss view a studio setting). Continue shooting Projects.

*WEEKS-10-12-Students will continue producing and executing video technique. Shoot on location as needed. Begin editing pieces.

*WEEKS-13-15-Students complete projects. Show work. Schedule it for airing.

*WEEKS-16-20-Students will repeat the above sequence. Moving with more comfort and challenging themselves with different projects.

 

EXPECTED OUTCOME

 

*ONE TO TWO PEICES –for Broadcast minimum ½ hr in length. (Talk, Magazine formats or Film Shorts)

*PSA/SHORTS-maximum 6 minute in length (youth related concerns) total two-three

*SCHEDULE PERMITTING-short specials for classes historic or literature based.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

 

The markers to inform instructor of individuals progress will be seen through the video, and supplying students with pre and post surveys provides them an opportunity to evaluate the workshop.
